In most mentoring schemes, the coordinator finds it extremely difficult to keep in touch with all the mentoring pairs and, without regular monitoring, the scheme will very often falter and wither away.

MDS Online measures mentor and mentee perceptions at three key phases in their mentoring relationship (at the beginning, at mid-term and on completion) by asking a set of questions. In addition, it provides a benchmark against mentoring pairs in other organisations around the world.
