CLUTTERBUCK ASSOCIATES SOUTH AFRICA is a franchise from the leading UK and European mentoring and coaching consultancy Clutterbuck Associates. Clutterbuck Associates is the holder of a Quality Award from the European Mentoring and Coaching Council to deliver accredited training at Foundation levels 3 and 4 – training line managers and internal HR specialists in coaching and mentoring. The three founding partners and Directors of the company are co-presenting this paper.
PENNY ABBOTT is an independent HR Practitioner with over 30 years of human resources management experience globally and locally. She has worked in the financial, mining, manufacturing, fast moving consumer goods, food and pharmaceutical industries. She spent 3 years recently as global Head of Corporate Human Resources for the multinational Holcim Group based in Switzerland, after 8 years as Executive in charge of Human Resources first at Adcock Ingram Ltd and then later at the company now known as AfriSam).
She is a Master HR Practitioner and is a registered Mentor with the SA Board for Personnel Practice. She has completed an M Phil through the University of Johannesburg, researching the management of mentoring schemes.
PETER MICHAEL BECK runs his own consulting business specialising in change and diversity. He is currently very active in the HIV/AIDS field in Southern, West and East Africa. Peter is an HR specialist with over 12 years operational/line experience and 18 years organisational development with specific interest and experience of performance and change management, graduate and fast track development, discrimination management managing of diversity/relationship issues.
Peter is a Chartered HR Practitioner Generalist, a Mentor with the SA Board for Personnel Practice, and an Advisory Board member for the International Standards for Mentoring Programmes in Employment (ISMPE). He is also a facilitator for Understanding Racism/Sexism/Classism and Developing Good Practice and an assessor for conducting workplace assessments in the Education Training and Development Field.
NOBANTU MPOTULO is a Director of her own company, Just in Time solutions. She has gained qualifications in HR management and Guidance and Counselling from local and UK universities. After 10 years of providing student and staff counselling at the University of Fort Hare and the University of Transkei – which included working with victims of violence for the Truth and Reconciliation Commission – she then became Director of Strategic Planning for Technikon Northern Gauteng and afterwards moved into the corporate sector, managing bursary funds, scholarship programmes and study schemes at Telkom.
Nobantu consults in the fields of higher education governance, training, development and transformation and also provides an event management service for large learning events. She is a qualified Assessor and Trainer for Investors in People.
